Sales & Commercial Operations
China Commercial & Sales - Architecture. Establishment of China Industrial Hub for Scania
Scania’s China presence is designed as a fully integrated ecosystem, combining industrial operations, sales & commercial functions, and a robust dealer and service infrastructure:
In Rugao (Jiangsu Province), Scania has built a state-of-the-art industrial hub that houses vehicle production, powertrain assembly, testing, and logistics facilities — all aligned with Scania’s modular production system.
This plant is designed to serve both the Chinese domestic market and export markets in Asia, shortening lead times and improving responsiveness.
To support market development, Scania has established full sales and commercial operations in China. The goal is not only to produce locally but also to use China as a regional hub for sales across Asia.
Multiply worked and assisted with the Sales & Commercial Operations IT set up, Integrations and Architecture, also considering the Data Separation and Privacy Laws of China and Europe.

Challenge
Secure Expansion in China
As part of Scania’s global expansion, the establishment of the new Industrial Hub in Rugao, China, required setting up a complete Sales and Commercial IT landscape — one that operates independently within China while remaining fully aligned with Scania’s global architecture in Södertälje, Sweden.
The project presented complex challenges: managing compliance with Chinese cybersecurity and data sovereignty laws, ensuring adherence to European privacy regulations (GDPR), and creating a secure, efficient integration between China and Sweden. This setup would form the backbone of Scania’s Sales, Dealer Network, and Commercial Operations in the region.
